H.C. Andersen Fairy Tale Coins series –
The Little Mermaid
In 2005, Danmarks Nationalbank issued a new series of coins with motifs from Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tales.
A total of five fairy tale coins have been issued in the period 2005 to 2007. The motifs have been chosen to illustrate different aspects of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tales.
The second fairy tale coin ‘The Little Mermaid’ was issued on 20 October 2005. The motif is taken from Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale ‘The Little Mermaid’.
Technical specifications
The 10 Kroner coin is made of Aluminum-Bronze. The coin has a diameter of 23.35 mm, weights 7.0 g, a thickness of 2,30 mm, and has a smooth rim.
